Middleman Service

Middleman services are intended to ensure security by providing a third party middle-man in transactions where the two traders do not trust each other. Rather than sending credits or assets directly to the other party, both parties send to the middleman service, which holds the credits and assets until transfer to both parties at the same time. Alternatively, party #1 sends their credits to the middleman service, which holds them until party #1 receives the assets being purchased, the service then sends the credits on to party #2. If either party fails to deliver their part of the deal, the credits or assets will be held by the middle and eventually returned.

The only way to avoid fraud in this process is to use an insured middleman. These persons are regulated by government authorities. The only way to be certain an middleman is insured is to check with that government authority.

For the convenience of the trading community, the Galactic Alliance has decided to insure middlemen from all Member governments and assemble a database for quick and easy reference. Below are the names, identifying placards, and insured limits of all Galactic Alliance middlemen. Any person not found here is not a bona fide Galactic Alliance middleman.
Any trader with a claim against a GA middleman can turn to any GA Member for reimbursement. This increases the likelihood of reimbursement five fold over other middlemen. Likewise, trade values can truly be unlimited because the combined Galactic Alliance assets available for insurance reach into the tens of billions of credits.
